I met the walrus

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message.

'Gifted' and Evan B Harris Preview Video

Here is another lil ole commercial for the fabulous Cerasoli:LeBasse Gallery in Culver City.

I am actually showing a few pieces in the 'Gifted' Group show. A little scaring for me considering the line up including Blaine Fontana, Yoskay Yamamoto, Eric Fortune, Hellovon, Jennifer Davis, Scott Belcastro, Justin Gibbens, Meggs, Melissa Haslam, Tessar Lo, Tofer Chin, Jack Long, Edwin Ushiro and even more.

If you are still shopping for a Christmas present that you want to really be powerful, the gift of art is always the best! And these are all priced very moderate.

Hope you enjoy the video!!!

Get out and VOTE America!!

Make you voice heard!!! Get out there and be a patriotic American and cast your vote!!!
We all know this election is probably the most important of our lifetime.

BTW Someone told me yesterday that they can't understand how a "Christian" could ever vote for Obama.

I can't understand how a "Christian" could vote to give the wealthy more tax cuts that "we"(the middle class) pay for.

Racism doesn't equal Patriotism

This scary thing is that I know people like this, and unfortunately, I know even more who are like this and don't show it like these people.

No wonder people look down on middle America and Christians.

Tessar Lo.

A few months before I moved back to California, I started to really get into a new artist I found. I couldn't help but scour his blog and the internet to find any morsel of his work or history. His work spoke to me on a very personal level and I felt like we were on the same page in some sense.

About 9-10 months go by and I find myself back in California and a job that is allowing me produce, direct, edit my own web tv show. I had an idea for a while and went with it, thus "Analog Color" is born.

After shooting of my first episode at Giant Robot 2 for the Kozyndan install, I was walking out the door and I spotted this guy whom I thought may be someone I wanted to shoot an episode of the show on. So never having meet the guy in my life and going off a picture I had seen on the internet I walk up to him and ask,"Hey, are you Tessar Lo?"

Fast Forward another 10 months and I couldn't be more blessed to have meet such a great person I now consider a great friend. With talent like his you assume pride and yet are met with complete humility. For such a young guy he is full of knowledge not only on art but life. In turn, my personal art has taken a different route(for the better) and I thank him for that.

If you have not yet meet the man behind the paintings, I can only hope you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

On another note. As of lately I have been blessed with owning a few Tessar Lo originals, one being a portrait of me and my family. Hope you enjoy them as much as me and my family are.

PS Very soon I will be posting a commercial for his show at Roq La Rue including commentary by Tessar about his new body of work. As far as his art goes, this body of work is by far my favorite.

Cheers,
J

And in case you haven't seen the Tessar Lo Episode please sit back and enjoy this 2 part episode.

Cerasoli:LeBasse Inaugural Opening

It wasn't enough that Beau Basse at project:gallery had the most amazing roster of talent in LA, So he teamed up with the always amazing Freddi C. to create Cerasoli:LeBasse. I am very proud to be apart of this years calendar at Cerasoli:LeBasse. I'm in a group show in December and next year with a 2 man show in February with the way to talented Eric Fortune.

Tomorrow night is the opening, and I couldn't be any more excited. I have gotten pretty close to the project team over this past year and I am still amazed at the amount of humility displayed by such a crew of talent.

I couldn't be happier to call these guys my friends and hope the project family only grows stronger into the future with this great merger. Congratulations, and Good Luck to Beau and Freddi on this exciting adventure.

Of course, I had to cut up a new commercial for the show and here it is:

Analog Color Episode 4 Underway!!!!

So we are back and running with Analog Color Episode 4 featuring "Endless Reflection" commemorating the 20th Anniversary of Neil Gaiman's Sandman at Nucleus Gallery in Alhabra, CA.

The Show was amazing with tons of great art from Mike Dringenburg, Tessar Lo, Jason Shawn Alexander, Barren Storey, Dave McKean, Emonic, Jill Thompson, Mike Shine, Nate Frizzell, Nimit Malavia, Rodney Fuentebella and so many more.

And with over 100 pieces to view it was incredible. We got some great interviews with Mike Shine, Tessar Lo, Jason Shawn Alexander, Emonic, Nate Frizzell, Rodney Fuentebella, and others.

This next episode should be great considering the diversity between the artists.
